But consider this: there is constant change and diversity in all aspects of life. There are opposites at work in the natural world, the global environment and our diverse relationships.
The Bible tells us “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease”. (Genesis 8:22 ). These four pairs of opposites are the main building blocks of our physical existence, without which human life would be impossible. How could we understand heat without cold, light without dark, joy without sorrow, life without death? We cannot know the reality of one without its complementary opposite. We may seek one without its counterpart, but find the two are inseparable.
Clear and misty, sunny and cloudy, all serve the purpose of our growth and development. The Bible also says, "All things work together for good to them that love God " ( Romans 8:28 ).
To be whole, we need to live with this balancing harmony.
